Leslie Westendorf, Founder & Creative Director

I’m a midwestern gal with a love for design—my design journey started with interiors and has made stops in retail/store layout, digital product design, as well as design research and strategy. I have a BFA in Interior Design from Miami University and an MFA in Design Management from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).

My husband and I recently returned home to Ohio after a decade+ of living away in cities across the country. Greater Cincinnati families—I’m here for you! Many of the projects you’ll see here were from our seven precious years in Greenville, SC, a city that brought us so much joy and treasured friendships.

Since welcoming our son, Leo, in February 2017, we’ve had to rethink many spaces in our home to accommodate a busy and curious toddler. In May 2020, we welcomed our daughter, Amelia, and purchased an older home in the historic Cincinnati village of Terrace Park. And so begins a whole new set of design challenges. I can’t wait to share how we make this 1948 home ours.

I’m passionate about creating interiors for families. I will work with you to design functional and beautiful spaces that are just right for the way you want to live, learn, and grow. I love a great latte, a brisk walk, and discussing the ups and downs of motherhood, careers, and relationships. I look forward to sharing a conversation with you!

Maxpatch Studio got its name from one of my favorite hikes—the Max Patch Trail, which has 360-degree views of the Blue Ridge mountain ranges and is covered in wildflowers in the spring and summer months.

Special thanks to my long time friend and colleague Martha Cooper Design for her logo work. And equal special thanks to friend and neighbor Robin McKerrell for capturing this season of life in these motherhood portraits.
